On August 31st, 2023 (t0), at the date of the initial assessment at the Somatosensory Rehabilitation Centre (Freiburg, Switzerland), E.D., 42 years old, had been living with neuropathic pain for 20 months. After receving a ball to the face whilst playing volleyball, E.D. described being left with omnipresent tingling, pricking and radiating sensations, that impacted all spheres of her life. Neuropathic conditions: permanent symptomatic trigeminal neuralgia of the maxillary branch [V2] with mechanical allodynia (Stage IV of Aβ axonal lesions) & slight hypo-aesthesia of the proper palmar ulnar digital nerve D1.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Table I: During the 19 somatosensory rehabilitation of neuropathic pain sessions (t=133 days), the decrease of neuropathic pain was astonishingly correlated with 1) the prescription of avoid touching the SMA territory and, subsequently, 2) the decrease of the underlying tactile hypoaesthesia. SMA: Static Mechanical Allodynia; 2pts: static 2 points discrimintation test; PPT: Pressure Perception Threshold; McGill: McGill Pain Questionnaire; ND: Not Determined.
